Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, uluslararası öğrencilerin sosyo-kültürel uyumuna yönelik olarak üniversiteler tarafından gerçekleştirilen kurumsal faaliyetleri incelemektir. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından durum çalışması deseniyle tasarlanan bu çalışmada, çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinde biri olan maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 15 birim sorumlusu/yöneticisinden oluşmuştur. Çalışmanın verileri görüşme yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin incelenmesinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veriler, ilgili alanyazın esas alınarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, uluslararası öğrenci ofislerinde uluslararası öğrencilerle ilgilenecek personel sayısının eksik olduğunu, aynı zamanda uluslararası öğrencilerin sosyo-kültürel uyum süreçlerine yönelik çok az faaliyetin gerçekleştirildiğini göstermiştir. Bu bağlamda Türk yükseköğretim kurumlarının, uluslararası öğrencilerin uyum süreçlerini destekleyici uygulamaları arttırması ve bunun için gerekli kurumsal düzenlemeleri gerçekleştirmesi gerekmektedir.
